The Pretoria High Court has today made a ruling that favors the media on the broadcast of the Senzo Meyiwa trial. This means the media will continue with the live broadcast of the witness’ audio.
This comes after the state brought the application earlier this week arguing that the witness alleged to be the sister of musician Kelly Khumalo, Zandi Khumalo fears for her safety as she is a public figure.
The defense and the media has opposed the application and argued that there is no evidence of the witness’ safety being at risk. This is the fourth day that the main trial has been disrupted to address this application in the Pretoria High Court – where the five men are currently standing trial for Senzo Meyiwa’s murder in 2014.
“Because Zandile Khumalo has not testified I seem to read concerns only on her face being beemed on TV” says Judge Maumela

The witness is said to have been in the house when Meyiwa was shot in what has been portrayed as a burglary turned out badly. Pre-preliminary appointed authority Tshifhiwa Maumela framed how, the freedoms of the witness were set in opposition to the privileges of all others included, including the relatives of the deceased and the family and fans for Senzo Meyiwa.
In the meantime – disbarred advocate Malesela Teffo has been taken out from the court during the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial in the Pretoria high court this morning.

This was after he endeavored to address the court.
As procedures got going, Teffo — who was in his robe — stood up after the other advice affirmed their appearance for the blamed.
Teffo said he was showing up as the watching brief for Meyiwa’s sibling and Privateers’ administration.
Be that as it may, judge Tshifhiwa Maumela requested that the court methodical mediate.
Maumela said Teffo’s direct subverted the etiquette of the court.
“Considering what he has done from yesterday, the court precise should not permit him back in court,” he said.
On Wednesday Teffo upset procedures, needing to address the court, and had a warmed trade with Maumela.
Teffo, who had requested that advocate Zandile Mshololo tell the court he had a watching brief, stood up not long after Mshololo completed the process of talking.
“It is a discourteous interference which is pointless. There’s no watch brief who has hindered procedures,” the appointed authority said.
